Most of one day in Nuremberg was spent visiting the Nazi Rally Grounds.

This is the area that was developed, largely from1933 to 1939 and where annual Nazi party rallies were held those years.

The main museum and interpretive center is closed for renovations, but an interesting and informative display has been created in an alternate building. We started here and then went on the walk around some of what would have been the grounds.

The city continues to struggle with identifying the ‘right’ way to use this huge area of land and resources while appropriately acknowledging what started and happened here.

Far too many thoughts and emotions resulted from this visit to capture here, so I’ll share some captioned photos, and leave it at that.
